Margaret was born October 22, 1924, in Muldrow, Oklahoma and passed away
February 25, 2004, in Bakersfield, California.
Margaret was part of a large family originating in Oklahoma where she
helped
work on the family farm as a child. After moving to California, she began
her
own family and resided in Bakersfield her remaining years. Last year she
celebrated 50 years of marriage to her loving husband, Roger Bastion.
She was known as Nana and loved her family and friends more than anything.
Hugs were her specialty and she never let anyone out the door without one.
She
loved visiting and playing games with her dear friends, Tom and Jeri Rose
and
Juanita Van Meter. She looked forward every day to watching Paula's Home
Cooking and also enjoyed watching golf. In her younger years she was
quite a
golfer herself. She was a quick wit and a lot of fun! When asked how she
was
doing, her favorite reply was "I'm young, rich and beautiful, and I lie a
lot!"
She had a full life and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving family, husband, Roger Bastion; daughters,
Trudy Sanchez and Barbara Clark; grandchildren, John Rosenberger; Tracy
Roberts
and husband, Melvin; Rick Rosenberger and wife, Lilly; Roger Clark, Jr.
and
wife, Kristen; Cacie Hollins and husband, Julian; great grandchildren,
Michael,
Zachary, Tricia, Nikki, Ricky, Lauren, Alexia, Juliette, Julian, and two
angels
on the way; sons-in-law, Johnny Rosenberger and Roger Clark; brothers,
Robert
"Pete" Underwood and wife, Jonita; Jerry Underwood and wife, Juanita; Joe
Underwood and wife, Jean; sister, Rachel Raines and husband, Jimmy; her
dear
sister-in-law, Wanda Underwood and many nephews and nieces whom she loved
dearly.
Services will be held Saturday, February 28, 11:00 a.m., Chapel of Praise,
1223 Dolores St., Bakersfield, CA. Pastor Willie Hollins oficiating, with
a
reception immediately following.
