Thank You For Your Service!

Stacy Franklin Barwick

Stacy Franklin Barwick
March 18, 1943 ~ Jan. 13, 2015

Service for Stacy Franklin Barwick, 71, of Wakita, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Wakita. Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. today, Jan. 16, at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, Okla.

Stacy was born March 18, 1943, to Franklin Edward and Annie Alice (Pearcy) Barwick in Tulsa, Okla., and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, in Wakita.

He was united in marriage to Betty Sue (Butler) Barwick on Oct. 19, 1964, in Beggs, Okla.

Stacy attended Gore schools through his junior year of high school, when he moved to attend Okmulgee Technology School to study auto mechanics.

After learning all he needed too there, he joined the United States Marine Corps, serving his country until Jan. 7, 1969, when he was honorably discharged.

Stacy worked a variety of jobs throughout his lifetime, some of those jobs included fabrication foreman, lineman, heavy equipment operator, and finally retiring from the State of Oklahoma Department of Transportation, working there from Sept. 2, 1986 to Feb. 1, 1997.

Stacy enjoyed his animals as evidenced by the variety of species he had over the years, including calves, ponies, horses, goats, dogs, geese, peacock, mules, emu, raccoon, snakes, pigs - the one he wanted that always eluded him was a ZEBRA!

Stacy also valued time with family and friends - never missing a gathering with his brothers and sisters, or a cousin reunion. The opportunity to just sit and visit with anyone was special to him.

Stacy was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Stacy will be deeply missed by his children, George and Kim of Wakita; daughter, Stacie and husband Greg of Virginia Beach, Va.; son, Frank of Wakita; grandchildren, Niki, Krystal and Brandi; brothers and sisters, Annie, Clif, David, Jody, Joy and Nancy; and the man who became like a son to him, Jesse Coffey; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
