Margie Kay (Thomas) Barton
December 24, 1944 ~ October 15, 2017

Margie Kay Barton, 72-year-old resident of Higgins, Texas, passed from this life peacefully on October 14, 2017 at her home. Margie was born December 24, 1944, in Higgins, TX, to Elbridge E. and Mary L. Thomas. She grew up on the family farm in Ellis County, OK, with her sister, Mary Sue. Margie initially attended Bishop School and later graduated from Higgins High School. In 1963, Margie married Charley Barton and to this union two sons were born, Stanton Todd and Clayton Thomas. 

Margie was a loving, caring, and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a person of deep faith, devoting much time to studying the Bible. She always saw the good in people. She enjoyed arts and crafts, discussing politics and world affairs, country and gospel music, and helping people. She loved her dogs and cats, and took great pride in the family farm in Ellis County. 

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Elbridge E. and Mary L. Thomas; and a sister, Patsy, who passed away as a child. She is survived by her children, Stanton Todd Barton and wife Melanie of Dallas, TX, and Clayton Thomas Barton and wife Cindy of Arnett, OK; five grandchildren, Jared Barton, Jason Barton, Heath Barton, Marc White, and Kristian White; her sister Mary Sue Willyard of Higgins, TX; her niece Patty Willyard of Amarillo TX; and a host of friends. 

Memorials may be made to the Higgins EMT in care of Shaw Funeral Home (P.O. Box 276, Vici, OK 73859.
