Jerry G. Barton a resident of Durant, Oklahoma and beloved family member left this life on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the age of 73. He was born on Tuesday, August 11, 1942 in Madera, California to Eulus and Alta (Upton) Barton. Jerry married Connie Rogers in Tahoe, Nevada on February 16, 1973.
Jerry was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years before he retired. Jerry enjoyed country music, and caring for his horses and cows.
Mr. Barton is survived by his wife Connie of the home; sons, Jerry Christopher Barton of Dallas, Texas, Jarrod Scott Barton of Durant, Oklahoma, Stephen Dell Brewer of Anchorage, Alaska and Robert Carl Brewer of Kenefic, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Farah and Jacob Barton of Durant, Oklahoma; siblings, Donald Barton of Placerville, California, Patricia Barton Tatom of Chowchilla, California and Billy Barton of Madera, California; grandsons, Darrell Brewer of San Miguel, California, Robert Brewer, Jr. of Atascadero, California, Nathan Brewer of Carson City, Nevada and Doyle Brewer of Nebraska; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Barton is preceded in death by his parents, Eulus and Alta Barton; half sister, Evelyn; and brother, Leslie Barton.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Kevin Dale officiating.
