Everett Eugene "Gene" Barteau was born December 14, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to Peter Everett and Ruby Catherine (Cauble) Barteau. He completed life's journey on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 82.
There are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Gene attended public schools in St. Louis and Tucson, Arizona. He later attended Red River Vocational-Technical School where he received a certificate in Machine Shop. He worked many different jobs. He worked at a flower shop and also at a lumber yard. He work at different machine shops in the area, including Halliburton. He also made signs for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. He was a musician. Gene was a member of the Cross Creek Cowboy Church of Marlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Linda Barteau and Shirley Barteau; and great grandson, Theo. Gene is survived by his children: Kimberly of Florida; Bobbie and Jeff of Duncan; Dale and Kristal of Duncan; Gerri and Quinton of OKC; and Jimmy of Duncan; 14 grandchildren: Justin, Jordan, Jonathan, Meagan; Maria, Brandon, Santana, Dale II, Mallory, Jeffrey, Danny, Jennifer, Rachelle, and Kenya; 23 great grandchildren; and brothers: G. Wayne Barteau and Carol Ann Barteau of Tucson, Arizona and Ronnie Joe Barteau of Kingman, Arizona.
