Christopher Sean “Khaky” Barry

Christopher Sean “Khaky” Barry
July 21, 1976 ~ February 27, 2021

Christopher Sean “Khaky” Barry began his heavenly journey on February 27, 2021, at the young age of 44. He was always thinking of others, Chris never met a stranger, and his loyalty was bone-deep; there for anyone that needed him. You could always count on Chris to give you his honest opinion, offer his heartfelt advice, and stand by you when “the going got tough”. Chris always rose to the occasion to help, his passion for life was his North Star and his personality was infectious; you could not help but be filled with his zest for living.

Chris was born in Fussa, Japan to Charlene “Bee” and Linda Barry on July 21, 1976; the world would never be the same! He was a graduate of Midwest City High School, class of 1994, and studied psychology at Rose State College. Although he never earned an “official” degree, he often said he had his Ph.D. in Life and street smarts, few would disagree with him.

Chris loved to cook over a smokey grill; at home, family reunions at the lake or at the park feeding friends, family, and strangers that would just stop by. He started bowling in a league when he was six years old and continued throughout his adult life. Another passion that brought him numerous accolades was his pool game. As a pool shark, Chris not only loved to shoot pool but loved the camaraderie. Chris never missed an opportunity to share his knowledge of the things he loved. Whether it was at the bowling alley, pool hall, or a cookout, friends became family and all who knew him were better people for having been able to spend time with him.

Chris spent many late-night hours playing Cribbage with his mom and loved their quiet time together sharing life stories, dreams, and fellowship. During the Football season, it became quite a lively debate at game time; they had a running contest of who could pick the winners of every college and NFL game! Everyone was welcome in on the fun, Chris loved a good gathering! Chris was also an avid domino player and could be found slapping down bones with friends and family anytime the opportunity arose.

Chris was a man of many talents and passions, he was also an artist and talented musician; having produced music through his Truthful Productions Company. Although he never won a Grammy, his music and talent touched many lives.

Chris was a devoted son that loved his mother unconditionally, a loving brother, father, and a loyal friend; he was a lover of life. His sidekick, “The Nose”, could always be found close by his side to help share comfort and words of wisdom; as Chris would say “Just know that The Nose knows what The Nose knows when he knows what he knows.” Chris will live forever in our hearts; gone but never forgotten and The Nose will continue to travel the world and spread that love.

Chris’s faith and personal relationship with God was evident to all who knew him, and he had his bags packed and ready to move to Heaven when God called him home.

Chris leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted mother Linda Barry, daughter Jada, brothers Nathan Barry, Adrian Barry, Charles Wayne Barry, Sisters Beverly Kay Barry, Michelle Little, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, several special sisters and brothers, and very special friends.

He is preceded in death by his Dad Charlene “Bee” Barry, brothers Prentis and Darryl Barry as well as special sister, Laverne Stroud.
