Ricky Clyde Barritt, 71, passed from this life into his heavenly home on January 19, 2024 at his home in Sherman Texas. Rick was born July 29, 1952 in Sundance Wyoming to Mildred and Clyde Barritt.
They moved to Sidney, IA and Rick graduated from Sidney High School in 1971. Rick Married Deborah Allen on December 3, 1971 and started their life together in Shenandoah Iowa. Rick worked at Eaton's in Clarinda Iowa until they moved to Texas in 1982. There Rick worked as a machinist at Texas instruments and later at Weber aircraft. Rick enjoyed his work and tried his hand at making things for himself and others! Those of you that know Rick know that he was a kind giving person. He was willing to help anyone if he could. He loved his family and made many lifelong friends in Texas.
Rick spent a lot of time learning Martial arts and eventually started teaching young kids the craft. His Harleys brought him lots of enjoyment. He and his family had many adventures on the bike. He spent a lot of his time reading Western books and watching Westerns on TV. Louie Lamar was his favorite author.
Rick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Debbie, his daughter Danielle (Devian) Fortenberry, grandchildren, Alyson, Finley, and Dawson. Sister Carla (Mike Schoenbohm) nephews Tyler Johnston, Caleb Johnston (Ashley) Cole Johnston.
Services will be held Wednesday January 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cunningham Funeral Home Colbert, OK. with Pastor Roger Speers officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m.
