Etta Jane Barrett, 80, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Stillwater Medical Center. Arrangements are under the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00am at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Ada, Oklahoma.
Etta was born on November 30, 1937 to Benjamin and Emma Kathrine (Hink) Risner in Nevark, Arkansas. She was raised in Ada, Oklahoma and graduated at the Ada High School in 1956. After high school Etta married the love of her life, Frank Barnett on February 16, 1972 in Ada, Oklahoma. Together they celebrated 31 years together before Frank's passing in 2003.
Etta was very dedicated to her work at the Brockway Glass Plant where she worked for over 30 years. After Brockway Glass Plant closed she then went on to continue her education and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Science from East Central University.
During her free time, she would love to sew, do trivia or work on her crossword puzzles, which she did daily. She was proud to be a lifetime member of the Asbury Methodist Church in Ada, Oklahoma.
Etta is survived by her daughter Kathy Krebbs and husband Jeff; two siblings Carolyn Burns, Steve Risner and wife Charlotte; five grandchildren, Kayla Isaacs and husband James, Heather Grinstead and husband Mitchell, Bonnie Zaunbrecher and husband, Lorenz, Katy Copeland, Scottie Gray and husband Dakota; and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son Alan Copeland; and three siblings.
