Charlett Ann Barrett, daughter of Mary Elizabeth Gray and the late Ralph Eugene Leatherman, was born May 8, 1947, in Hatch, New Mexico, and passed away April 20, 2022, in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 74 year, 11 months, and 12 days.
Charlett graduated from Seminole High School. On July 25, 1965, she was united in marriage to Ted P. Barrett in Seminole. They moved to Waynoka where she worked as a bookkeeper for the Waynoka Coop for 5 years, then at the Waynoka Nursing Home for 7 years. She then worked as a Customer Service Representative/Cashier at WalMart for 19 years until her retirement in 2021.
She was a member of the Elm and Murrow Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Leatherman.
Charlett is survived by her husband, Ted, of Waynoka; two sons, Randy Barrett and wife, Amy, of Alva, and Richard Barrett and wife, Elissa, of Glenpool; two daughters, Rebecca Carroll and husband, Brent, of Quanah, Texas, and Debra McClain and husband, Danny, of Beggs; her mother, Mary Gray of Rush Springs; four grandchildren, Morgan Goodacre and husband, Kyle, of Sapulpa, Konner McClain of Beggs, James Burton of Glenpool, and Alex Barrett of McAlester; two brothers, Robert Leatherman of Seminole, and James Leatherman and wife, Angela, of Rush Springs; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Elm and Murrow Church of Christ.
