Lee (Hamilton) Barnhisel

??? ~ February 20, 2018

The Jackson and Hamilton families are saddened by the sudden death of Lee Hamilton Barnhisel on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

Lee was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Jim Hamilton of Pawhuska, OK, her husband Jack Barnhisel and her beloved nephew James Lofton.

Lee moved to Santa Fe in 2012 where her sister Kay Hamilton has lived for many years. She was joined soon after by her son Steve Jackson, his wife Angie and granddaughter Phoebe. During her life Lee pursued two paths-first as an artist and later as a successful businesswoman. She earned a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and was so pleased that her son Steve earned an MFA from the University of Michigan and that her granddaughter Phoebe, an accomplished violinist, is currently attending the New Mexico School for the Arts.

Lee was born in Pawhuska, OK and fondly remembered attending the Indian Camp School with her two sisters Kay and Janie. Janie AJ Hamilton resides in Pawhuska and maintains the Triple H Gallery started by the three Hamilton sisters.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Lee H. Barnhisel to the New Mexico School for the Arts, 275 E. Alameda St., Santa Fe, NM 87501 (505) 310-4194
