Laura Jane Barnett, 89-year-old Chouteau resident, passed away early Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born on April 24, 1935, in Muskogee to George William “Bill” Hilbern and Neva Z. (Thompson) Hilbern. Laura was a 1953 graduate of Muskogee High School. She was married to Roy J. Barnett, who preceded her in death in 2015. Laura had several businesses in her lifetime including a dog grooming business, and a ceramics business. She enjoyed doing crafts, painting, scrapbooking, and genealogy.
Those who preceded her in death include her parents, Bill and Neva Hilbern, a brother, James William “Jim” Hilbern and her husband Roy J. Barnett.
The family includes her daughter, Joy Randels and husband Jeff of Chouteau, two sons, James L. Barnett and wife Glenda of Kingsbury, Texas, Bryan K. Barnett and wife Stacy of Quinton, Oklahoma, special grandson, Bryan K. Barnett, Jr., and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
