Wilma Roberta "Bert" (Longbone) Barnes
March 14, 1942 ~ November 15, 2017

Wilma Roberta "Bert" Barnes, 75, of Dewey passed away on November 15, 2017.

Bert was born on March 14, 1942 in Rushville, IL. She married Samuel Barnes on June 20, 1956 in Miami, OK. She was an avid nature lover, and spent much of her time outdoors and working with animals. She spent many years raising German Shepherd show dogs, rescued numerous animals in need of care, and was quite skilled at hunting and fishing. Her love of all creatures, great and small, had a profound impact on her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

Bert is preceded in death by her father, Warren Longbone, mother Lucille Longbone, and sister Barbara Kayholm

Bert is survived by her husband, Samuel Barnes, daughter Sandra Wood, son Daniel Barnes, son Timothy Barnes. She has six grandchildren, Tasha Vansyoc, Jessica Strain, Jason Wood, Jemilly Pruett, Chad Gober, and Nanette Oliver. She has fourteen great-grandchildren.

Bert's family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Monday, November 20, from 6-8 p.m. 

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, at the Davis Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chad Perceful officiating.
