Francis Laverne (Thomas) Barnes
March 13, 1945 ~ October 28, 2023

Francis Laverne Barnes, 78, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Alliance Health Hospital, Madill, Oklahoma. She was born on March 13, 1945, in Bloomberg, Texas to the late Elmer Edward Thomas and Laverne Ramage Thomas. Fran was raised Bloomberg moved to Mesa Arizona as a child then came to Oklahoma in the 70’s. She worked in management in convent stores and as a cook for S1ay Country Café. Fran married Jack Barnes Jr. on April 24, 1991, in Oklahoma and her preceded her in death on July 13, 2004. She was affiliated with the Baptist faith, and she enjoyed sewing, fishing, playing Bingo, and going to the casino. Her greatest joy was spending time with Trey and going to his sporting events.

Fran is survived by Grandchildren: Mikie Brown, Kacie Stilwell, Harley Brown. Great Grandchildren: Kimber Beene, Lane Brown, Wyatt Brown, Harper Brown. Nieces and Nephews: Nikki Patton, Chad Hockersmith, Mark Slay, Traci Truly, Stephanie Thompkins, Todd Thomas, Cody Thomas, Bo Thomas, Jo Dan Thomas. Great nieces and nephews: Trey Patton, Sophie Hockersmith, Brylee Hockersmith, Holden Hockersmith, Bailey Slay, Saige Clemmits, Brittany Shafer, Garret Shafer, Jayden Shafer, Ashley Breeden, Alex Thompkins. Brother: Buddy Thomas and wife Peggy, Ravia, Oklahoma. Sisters: Brenda Patton, Kingston, Oklahoma, Vicky Mauldin, Gainesville, Texas.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Mike Brown.
