Memorial services for Ethel L. Barnes were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Falconhead Christian Fellowship Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Roger Willard.
Mrs. Barnes was born June 23, 1913, in Union City, the daughter of Lester and Emma Pappe Smith, and died January 5, 1993, in an Ardmore hospital at the age of 79.
Mrs. Barnes had been a resident of Falconhead since 1981, moving there from Ardmore. She married Duard C. “Dugan” Barnes March 11, 1933, in El Reno. She was very involved in the Falconhead community as an active member of the Womens Golf Association, Falconaires, and the Ladies Arts and Crafts. An accomplished musician, Mrs. Barnes served as a church organist. She was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the Falconhead Christian Fellowship Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Duard C. “Dugan” Barnes of the home at Falconhead; a son, Bob Barnes of the home; a daughter, Bonnie L. Rose of Choctaw; a brother, Raymond J. Smith of Arnold, California; and two grandchildren, Bobbie and Rania Rose.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
