Ronald Blake "Ron" Barlow

Ronald Blake "Ron" Barlow
October 17, 1941 ~ January 11, 2019

Ronald Blake Barlow, 77, of Guthrie, Oklahoma was called home to Heaven on Friday, January 11, 2018. He was surrounded by his family that adored him as he lost the battle of complications from leukemia. He has ran the race and now he's home, being welcomed to the place where he eternally belongs.

Ron was born in Sweetwater, North Carolina, October 17, 1941 to the late Charles and Allie Bradshaw. He was an entrepreneur from early on, owning a coal mill in Caulfield, Missouri before moving to Oklahoma to work in the oil field. He would tell you he was a graduate from the school of hard knocks and as the hard working owner of Ron's Tire, that he also had a Doctorate in Tireology.

After selling Ron's Tire, he retired and enjoyed spending time with his wife and family while camping, fishing, gardening, and making people laugh. He was a member of Noble Avenue Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge.

Ron is survived by his wife of 38 years, Delores Barlow, sons Michael Barlow and his wife Crystal of Crescent, OK, and Roddy Murphy and his wife Linda of Parkhill, OK; daughters Tammy Lone of Wheatland, WY, Sabrina Miller and her husband Paul Pustmueller of Edmond, OK, and Sheila Murphy of Tulsa, OK; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Barlow, his sister Idell Schrecongost, and his parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00pm, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Noble Avenue Baptist Church, 1219 W. Noble, Guthrie, OK with Pastor James Porterfield officiating. Ron will be laid to rest at Ball Cemetery in Dora, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

A special thank you to the compassionate staff at INTEGRIS Health Edmond and Mercy Hospital Logan County for their loving care and support during his final days.
