Delores Jean (Shipley) Barlow

Delores Jean (Shipley) Barlow
October 05, 1941 ~ February 20, 2020

Delores Jean Barlow, 78, of Guthrie, Oklahoma was escorted by angels to Heaven on Thursday, February 20, 2020. She was surrounded by family that adored her as she lost the battle of complications from Alzheimer’s. She has ran the race and now she’s home, being welcomed to the place where she eternally belongs.

Delores was born in Gainesville, Missouri on October 5, 1941 to the late Theodore and Mildred Shipley. She excelled at every endeavor from being Valedictorian of her graduating class, to her career in marketing and in real estate, as well as being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She met the love of her life, Ron Barlow, while working in Caulfield, MO in 1980. They relocated to Oklahoma for Ron’s career and were united in marriage in July 1981. The following year they moved to Guthrie, OK where they happily lived the rest of their lives. After selling Ron’s Tire, she retired and enjoyed spending time with her husband and family while camping, fishing, and gardening. She was a member of Noble Avenue Baptist Church for over 35 years.

Delores is survived by sons Michael Barlow and his wife Crystal of Crescent, OK, and Roddy Murphy and his wife Linda of Parkhill, OK; daughters Tammy Lone of Guthrie, OK, Sabrina Miller and her husband Paul Pustmueller of Edmond, OK, and Sheila Murphy of Tulsa, OK; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Barlow, son, Eric Barlow, her brothers Larry and Jim Shipley, and her parents.

Memorial services are pending at this time with Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

There will be no visitation.

A special thank you to the compassionate team at INTEGRIS Hospice for their loving care and support during her final days.
