Alta Christine (Nelson) Barber
April 29, 1937 ~ February 20, 2020

Alta Christine "Toots" Barber, a resident of Roff was born April 29, 1937 in Marshall, Minnesota to Werner and Alta Christine (Rasmussen) Nelson. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday February 20, 2020 at Davis, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years 9 months and 21 days. She grew up in Marshall, Minnesota where she graduated High School

On June 30, 1958 she married John Barber, the love of her life, enjoying a wonderful life together for 62 years. She worked side by side with John in their auction business and at the family farm.

She spent her free time traveling around the country with her 3 girls showing their horses and participating in related events. In 2011 John and Toots moved down to Oklahoma from Northfield, Minnesota to spend kinder winters with their daughters and granddaughter, while still spending summers enjoying Minnesota. Toots treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma.

She enjoyed traveling and meeting new people, and making new friends everywhere. She always had a warm smile that people enjoyed. While in Oklahoma she attended Sulphur United Methodist Church, where they felt very welcome by their Church Family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survived by her husband: John Barber, of Roff, OK
Daughters & their husbands, Lori Bravo & Francisco, of Sulphur, OK
Gwen Carpenter & Doug, of Sulphur, OK
Jill Yanz & Tom, of Hastings, MN
Granddaughter: Natalie Christine Bravo
Brother: John Nelson, of Denver, CO

Services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday February 29, 2020 at Sulphur United Methodist Church officiated by Rev Jim Shepherd.

A celebration of Life For Toots will be held in Minnesota in the Spring of 2020

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to
Cross Timbers Hospice at 207C Street NW Ardmore, OK 73401
