Grover Barbee passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016.

Grover D. Barbee was born December 10, 1926 in Wann, OK. He married Charlene Delores Gay September 25, 1946 in Independence, KS recently celebrating 69 years of marriage. Grover Barbee (NA-A NOUNGUS OPOO), was of Cherokee ancestry. Grover is an honorary member of the Pawnee Native American Church. He was a member of the Osage Gourd Dancers and Lenape Gourd Dance Society. Grover proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He gave 39 years of dedicated service to Phillips Petroleum Co. in various capacities. Grover raised Quarter Horses, was an avid "Cutter" and enjoyed the Cowboy way of life. He was a member of the Rose Hill Community Baptist Church.
Grover is survived by his wife, Charlene Barbee of the family home, his sons: Roger Barbee and wife Diane, Hal Barbee and wife Terri. He was blessed with five grandchildren: Tye Barbee, Beau Barbee, Troy Barbee, Travis Barbee and Jamie Watson. Seven great grandchildren: Ciera Christy, Brayden Barbee, Grace Barbee, Tripp Barbee, Gentry Barbee, Hanna Belle Barbee and Wyatt Watson.
Grover was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Christy Barbee McCabe.
