Helen Gay (Cox) Bannister

February 22, 1922 ~ June 11, 2018

Helen Gay Bannister was born February 22, 1922 in Richmond, Kansas to Josephine and Case Irving Cox. She passed away June 11, 2018 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 20 days.

Helen moved near Elk City, Oklahoma with her family and attended school at Rock Bluff. In 1937 she was married to Thomas Allan Bannister in Sayre, Oklahoma. They moved to Odessa, Texas in 1942. After Allan passed away in 1975, she attended Junior College and worked for 7-11 for 13 years. In the early 1980's she moved to Ft. Worth, Texas and back to Sayre, Oklahoma in 1990 to make her home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter, Mary Ann Spencer, daughter-in-law, Kathryn Bannister, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

She is survived by 2 sons, Bobby Allan Bannister and wife, Sandra, Alvarado, Texas, Lanney Joe Bannister, Mineral Wells, Texas, 3 grandchildren, Bart Gutierrez, Erin Smith, David Hunter, all of Ft. Worth, Texas, 7 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
