Loyd Michael “Mike” Bandy was born October 7, 1949, in Littlefield, TX to Dewey J. Bandy and Jonelle Foster Bandy. Mike was the second born of six children. He started elementary school in Sudan, TX, before moving to Chickasha, OK. Later, he moved to Cement, OK where the family operated a dairy farm. Mike’s very strong work ethic began at an early age during these moves. Mike graduated from Fletcher High School with the Class of 1968. Mike and Phyllis Ham Bandy were the proud parents of Jeanie Michelle, Tonya Kaye, Sonya Renee Bandy. Jennifer Rachelle Bandy was born to Mike and Judy Huffman Bandy on December 3, 1971, in Littlefield, TX. During this time, Mike began his career as a butcher in Lubbock, TX and continued in Guymon and Elk City, OK. Additionally, Mike owned two convenience stores, a cattle operation, oil producing properties, an oil field trucking company, disposal wells, and many other ventures. Mike was a very hardworking and successful self-made businessman. On November 6, 2004, Mike married Misty Dawn Pratt and took up residence in Gage, OK.
Mike enjoyed going to basketball games, livestock shows, church group trips, and fishing. He spent much time working in his garden and tending to his livestock. In more recent years his garden consisted of tomatoes, but nonetheless he enjoyed growing them. Mike enjoyed his trips to Arizona with Misty and their grandkids. He was better known by all his grandkids as Pa.
Mike left this Earth on March 3, 2023. He was a likable generous person who made lasting impressions. “Mike Bandy is a good man,” was spoken by so many people. He was loved dearly and will be truly missed.
Mike is preceded in death by his father Dewey Bandy; mother Jonelle Bandy; brother Joe Bandy; father-in-law Irvin Cook; and infant grandchildren Joseph and Ishmael Soto.
Mike is survived by his wife Misty Bandy of the home; brother Calvin Bandy of Lubbock, TX; sister Nancy Wilkins and husband Darrel of Oklahoma City, OK; sister Linda Bandy of Davis, OK; sister Cecie Edwards and husband Gary of Littlefield, TX; sister-in-law Kathy Bandy of Milledgeville, GA; daughter Jeanie Soto of Chandler, OK; daughter Tonya Dobrinski and husband Jeff of Geary, OK; daughter Sonya Brown and husband Robert of Elk City, OK; daughter Jennifer Bandy Thomas and husband Brandon of Elk City, OK; grandson John Soto and wife Amanda, and children Killian, London, and Kainaan; grandson Antonio Soto and wife Courtney, and children Madelynn, Christopher, and Boston; grandson Jesse Soto and daughter, Aubriella; granddaughter Estephanie Soto and fiancé Deven, and daughter Amaya; grandson Kenzy Mooney and wife Reylee; grandson Kalep Mooney and wife Makala, and children Mazy and Journi; grandson Kolton Mooney and fiancée April, and children Kagan and Roy; grandson Cameron Dobrinksi and wife Jada, and children Teagan and Tenley; granddaughter Darcie Miller; grandson Logan Miller and children, Kaden and Melody; granddaughter Lacy Weatherly; granddaughter Chrisann Bandy and son, Asher; granddaughter Zaryn Thomas; stepson Rick Pratt; stepson Doug Gibson and wife Laura; stepdaughter Diana Gibson; stepdaughter Desiree Deviney; stepson Stephen Deviney; step-granddaughter Jocelyn Pratt; step-granddaughter Brooklyn Pratt; step-granddaughter Katelyn Pratt; step-grandson Jesse Pratt; step-granddaughter Emeree Pratt; step-grandson Kenny Pratt; step-granddaughter Brylee Chapman; step-grandson Clovis Deviney; step-grandson Tripp Deviney; step-granddaughter Questa Reed; step-grandson Kye Reed; step-grandson Levi Gibson; step-grandson Jessie Gibson; step-granddaughter Macy Sanchez; step-great grandchildren Greyson, Liam, Sawyer, Oliver, and Ellie; cousin Brandi Dalton; cousin Michelle Arend; and a host of loved ones and friends.
