ENID, Okla. - An informal memorial service for Billy George Bamburg, 64, of Enid, Okla., will be held later in the spring. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Billy was born to George and Roberta (Daniels) Bamburg on Oct. 24, 1949, in Enid, and passed away on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, in Enid.
Billy attended grade school and junior high in Enid, then began a life committed to helping others.
He cared for his mother, then worked at St. Mary's for over 30 years.
Billy enjoyed music, especially the Beatles, fishing, playing pool, NASCAR racing, an avid OSU Cowboys fan, and spending time with his family and friends.
He will be remembered most for his smile, warm hugs, deep laugh and great sense of humor. Billy truly enjoyed having fun! If you knew him, you loved him. He will be missed.
Billy is survived by his sisters, Pat Givens and husband Robert, and Kathy Moore, all of Enid; brothers, Eddie Bamburg of New Cumberland, Pa., Jerry and his wife Rita, Larry, and sisters-in-law, Sherry Bamburg and Bessie Bamburg, all of Enid; and many nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty; three brothers, Orbie, Roger and Bennie; two nieces and two nephews.
