Jaclynn “Sass” Anne Cheves Balzer passed away August 16, 2019 in her home in Cordell, OK. Jaclynn was born September 25, 1968 to Herbert Eugene “Jack” Cheves and Barbara Anne “Frazer” Cheves. At eleven months old the family relocated to Pawhuska, OK where Jaclynn attended Pawhuska Public Schools and graduated in 1986. Jaclynn was active in sports, band and FFA. She loved living on the Oxley ranch and spending her summers at Bluestem Lake.

Jaclynn attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College where she received her associate’s degree with honors. She then continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Jaclynn did her student teaching at Burns Flat-Dill City Public Schools in the fall of 1990 and was hired full time in the spring semester of 1991. Jaclynn was an avid Oklahoma Sooner Football fan. She loved to go to games with her children. Her children were her whole world and she poured her life into them. She never missed a single activity they were involved in no matter what it was. Everyone who knew her knew her children were her only priority.
