Michael Alan Balthus, better known by all his many friends as "Monkey", age 56, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma went to be with his lord and savior Sunday, January 24, 2021, in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Mike was born May 17,1964, in Blackwell, OK, to Francis Bruce and Linda Mae (Hock) Balthus. He attended Blackwell school until he graduated in 1982.
In 1989 Mike and Samantha Burris had a daughter Amber Nicole Balthus. In 1992, he married Geneva Snow and they had two daughters, Holly Christine Balthus and Katie Suzanne Balthus. On Halloween of 2000 he started seeing Rhonda Green who he would spend the rest of his life with. They both shared a love for Halloween.
Mike had several jobs through his life. He worked at Electron, Body Shop, Mid America Door, and Albertsons where he got his nick name "Monkey" and it stuck. But he found his perfect job when he became a Security Guard at Paradise Casino. He loved talking to people and never met a stranger. He had many, many friends.
Any one who knew "Monkey" knew about his passion for Nascar. He and Rhonda loved going to the races in Texas every year. His true passion was music of every kind. And you better wear your ear plugs cause it was "loud". He attended concerts every chance he got. His favorite was 80's rock bands. He also loved going to car shows, riding motorcycles, and going camping and riding his four wheeler full speed.
He is survived by; his wife of more than 20 years, Rhonda Green, of the home; daughters, Amber Balthus, of Enid, OK, Holly Balthus, Burlington KS, and Katie Balthus of Ponca City, OK; father, Bruce Balthus of Blackwell, OK; and grandchildren, Ryker, Serena, Logan, Lainey, and Amelia.
Preceded in death were Tim and Evelyn Hock, Earl and Beulah Balthus; mother Linda Balthus.
Services will take place at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Howard officiating. Viewing will be from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday, January 29, 2021, with family present between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Face masks are required. For those unable to attend, the ceremony will be live-streamed.
