Memorial Services for James D. (Jim) Ballard, 75, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke�s Episcopal Church, Father John D. Norvell will officiate. Mr. Ballard died Saturday, October 24, 2015 in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born March 4, 1940 in Ada to James Orval and Lorene Roddy Ballard. He graduated from Ada High School.
He married Nyta Jean Lee on January 26, 1962 in Ada. Mr. Ballard attended New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico and Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas. He graduated from East Central University and from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking, SMW, Dallas, Texas. He was enlisted with the United States Army Reserve. Mr. Ballard was Vice President of the First National Bank of Ft. Worth and Senior Vice President of Lufkin National Bank. He was a member of St. Luke�s Episcopal Church in Ada for many years, serving the church in several capacities.
Survivors include his wife, Nyta of the home; one daughter, Elizabeth Hope Fowler and her husband Chris, Missoula, Montana; three grandchildren, Kristin, C. J. and Katie Fowler; two great-grandchildren, Faith and Jaiden; two sisters, Anita Arbabi and husband Houshang of Ada and Sue Russ and husband Alvin of Stratford; one brother, Jerry Ballard and wife Vickie of Ada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Orval and Lorene Ballard.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to St. Luke�s Episcopal Church Matthew 25 Mission, P.O. Box 890, Ada, OK 74820.
