Frances "Lorene" Ballard, 70, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with the Rev. Dale Westbrook, pastor of New Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery of Vega.
Mrs. Ballard was born in Leedy, Okla., on Jan. 14, 1932. She lived in Amarillo for the past 50 years. She married Robert Ballard on Oct. 10, 1970, in Amarillo.
She worked as a waitress at the Blue Front Cafe for nearly 17 years. She then managed TAC AIR Restaurant for three years before retiring in 1997. She had been a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church for more than two years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed by many friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Darlene Cantrell; and a son, Chris Bland Ballard.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Judy Blackburn of State Road, N.C., and Barbara Cooper of Leesburg; a son, Steve Cantrell of Amarillo; three sisters, Doris McCutchan of Dumas, Lucille Romine of Stephenville and Gladys Weatherford of Dalhart; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be to Olivia's Angels in care of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment center.
