ENID, OK - A memorial service to celebrate the life of Kenneth George Ball, 82, of Enid, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church, 502 West Maine. The Reverend Andrew Long will officiate.

Reception for all will be held in the Fellowship Hall following. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1930, to Wilfred and Frieda Ball in Dover, Oklahoma, and passed away Aug.6, 2013, in Enid.

The family later moved to Enid where he was raised and later graduated from Enid High School in 1949. He attended Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College at Stillwater until he was drafted to serve in the Korean Conflict in the Air Force.

As senior construction equipment operator in the 3545th Installation Squadron, he utilized bulldozers, cranes, graders and trucks to help build the new airfield at Kimpo, Korea ? most of the time under enemy fire.

After four years of service, he elected to leave the military and return to Enid. Shortly after he met and married the love of his life, Margaret Cameron, on Aug. 12, 1955.

After working for P.C. Davis Construction Company as a journeyman carpenter for several years, he started his own business, Kenneth Ball Construction, building many custom homes in Enid and surrounding communities until his retirement due to ill health.

He was a founding member and past president of the Enid Homebuilders Association, and a member of AMBUCS Association.

He served for many years as Deacon and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church.

His great loves were his God, wife, and children. He valued spending time with all whether it was worship, work or recreation.

He took up golf as an outlet in the 1970's and enjoyed many weekends on the course, encouraging family and friends to join in the fun.

He is survived by his wife Margaret; three daughters, Marneth Weaver of Yale, OK, Adrianne Grant of Ringwood, OK, and Sandra Ball of Enid, OK; grandchildren Tashanna Nichols and her sons, Dylan, Taylor, and Dominick of Enid; Charles Nichols and wife Casi and their daughter, Bailey of Ringwood; George Ferris and his wife Kerri of New York, NY.

He is also survived by sisters Betty Westerfield of Inola, OK, Beverly Moore of Stone Mountain, GA, brother Gerald Ball of Tom Bean, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Military honors will be conducted by the Vance Air Force Base Silver Talon Honor Guard.

Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church for the Building Maintenance Fund or to the Parkinson?s Foundation of Oklahoma with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
