Marion Calven Bales

Marion Calven Bales
August 29, 1940 ~ May 7, 2022

Marion Calven Bales was born August 29, 1940 on the family homestead West of Kendrick. He passed away May 7, 2022 in his home in Davenport with his family by his side.

Marion grew up in Kendrick where he attended school graduating with the Kendrick Class of 1958. He worked for Bud Blakley for 42 years until he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, time on the lake, gardening, garage sales, and Christmas lights. Marion was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Calven and Mary (Holcomb) Bales; sisters, Kathryn Collins, Ruth McElroy; and his son, Calven Bales. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Freda (Collins) Bales of the home; sons, Gene Bales and wife Cristy of Davenport, Dennis Bales and wife Sherry of Davenport; daughters, Tamela Wunderlich and husband Keith of Cambridge, KS; (10) grandchildren; (5) great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Hoover of Chandler along with other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Davenport First Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Mitchell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
