Larry Wayne Bale, age 80 passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, February 9, 2024. Larry was born November 16, 1943, to John T. and Sylvia Audrey (Bonham) Bale in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
On January 24, 1965, Larry and the love of his life Sandra exchanged
vows. After their marriage, the two were inseparable for fifty-nine years.
Even at a young age, Larry wanted to inspire others. He attended college and
earned his bachelor’s in mathematics and a minor in history from
Northeastern State University and later received his master’s from the
University of Arizona.
Larry was a devoted math teacher at Caney Valley High School and loved helping children learn, even his own girls and grandchildren. He also taught at Independence Community College from which he retired at the age of 70. After retirement, you would often find him tutoring at the Wesleyan Christian School. He was an educator through and through to the very end.
Larry had many accomplishments in his life including being a member of the marching band through college, attending ROTC, singing tenor in the church quartet, and being a loving father to his three daughters. He enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, gardening, running 5K races, competing in the church softball league, and serving at the Dewey and Bartlesville Senior Centers. He truly had a servant’s heart.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents as well as his three brothers and three sisters.
His memory will forever live on with his wife Sandra, their three daughters and their spouses, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Larry’s family will miss his goofy remarks, his big heart, and his contagious smile.
