David Allan Bakken

 David Allan Bakken, 50, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Stillwater Medical Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. A Celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater.

David was born in Madison, Wisconsin on May 6, 1968 to Fredrick and Shirley (Hanson) Bakken. He grew up in Poynette, Wisconsin and graduated… from Poynette High School in 1986. After graduating high school, he married the love of his life, Tina Kay Waggoner on November 5, 1994 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They would have celebrated 24 years of marriage on November 5, 2018.

David never met a stranger. He loved watching football and cheering on his Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, playing golf with all his golfing buddies that he established great friendship with, and going on vacation with his cruising friends. He loved being the life of the party and everyone knew him by name because of his contagious personality and his love of life. Mostly he loved and adored his daughter, Makayley. She made him laugh every day and he cherished every day he got to spend with her.

Survivors are his wife, Tina Kay Bakken, and daughter, Makayley Faith Bakken both of the home; siblings, Cherie Anderson (Dennis), Dale Bakken (Tammy), Suzanne Pieper (Dave), Tammy Fischer (Jason), Tracey Sanner, Darrell Bakken all of Wisconsin; Brenda Miller (Jeff) of Tennessee; and father, Fredrick Bakken of Wisconsin. In-laws; Kenny and Kay Waggoner, Trisha Glenn (Mark) all of Stillwater, and Tim Waggoner (Kim) of Kansas. He had numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and countless friends.

David is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; mother, Shirley Bakken; and brother Darwin Bakken.
