Raycee L Baker

Raycee L. Baker, 74, of Caney, KS passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his home.

He was born on October 27, 1941, at Bartlesville, OK to Clyde and Naomi (O'Neill) Baker. Raycee grew up and attended school in Copan, OK, graduating from Copan High School. He later attended OSU Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, OK.

Raycee was employed as a Materials Engineer at Reda Pump in Bartlesville, OK for many years and later as Manager of Superior Welding in Coffeyville, KS.

On October 18, 1971, he married Carolyn Crocker at Ardmore, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in the Caney, KS area.

He attended the First Christian Church in Caney, KS. In his spare time he enjoyed boating, fishing, and playing the Banjo. But his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of the home; son, Mark Baker of Caney, KS, son, Jody Baker of Kansas City, KS, daughter, Peggy Baker of Bartlesville, son Jeff Russell of Lawton, OK, son, Don Baker, step-brothers Tommy Joe Morris and Stanley Morris; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-brother, Richard Beams.

Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney with Chaplain Mike Graham, of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Caney.

The family suggests memorials to A.W.O.L. (Animals with our love) in Independence or Coffeyville Friends of Animals, Inc.; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
