Joe Baker, age 73, of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away on May 20, 2026, at his home. Joe was born on June 2, 1952, in Sterling, Illinois to parents George and Rachel (Briggs) Baker. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1978 when he was honorably discharged. He worked and retired as a machinist and was married to Toni King from 2007 until her passing in 2021.
Joe is preceded in death by his wife Toni King and parents George and Rachel Baker.
Joe is survived by his brother Dale Baker and wife Sherry of Sherman, TX; sister Cindy Stapleton and husband Loyd of Canada; son Chris Baker and wife Susan of Frisco, TX; daughter Crystal Hanson and husband John of Celest, TX; 3 grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Joe will be laid to rest at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
