Lorraine E. Baird (St. Cyr), age 80, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026 at King's Daughters & Sons in Durant, OK surrounded by her loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and daughters Christine and Cassandra. She is survived by her brothers Jack and Williams (Marilyn) St. Cyr, sister-in-law Judy (David) Webster, sons Keven and Ken [Barbara] Baird, daughters Mary [Glen]Whitmire and Laura [Ehab] Eassa. Grandchildren Tanner, Taylor, Kaylene [Brandon], Cassidy, Mackinzi, Colton, and Kaitlyn. Great-Grandchildren Hunter, Ainsley, Scarlett, Harlowe, Taven and Illiana, along with numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Lorraine (Rain) graduated nursing school 1966 in Manchester, New Hampshire. During her 30 years of nursing, she cared for people while working in assisted living facilities, emergency rooms, as a surgical nurse, floor nurse, discharge planner, and case worker. When she retired from nursing, she obtained her commercial driver's license and joined her husband driving tractor trailers across the United States. She often said she had been able to visit all but 1 of the 50 states, and hoped to cross the last (Hawaii) off the list before she passed. She loved travel, crochet, gardening, reading, playing games, watching baseball, the Olympics, Jeopardy, and spending time with family and friends.
The family would like to specially acknowledge and thank Jerri Jo Wright for her companionship, love and devotion to our mother, who loved her like a sister.
There will be a memorial service and luncheon following on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Community Christian Church, 5325 University Blvd, Durant, Oklahoma.
