Mary Lou (Ridgeway) Bailey
September 19, 1929 ~ February 21, 2023

Mary Lou (Ridgeway) Bailey was born September 19, 1929 at Ashland, Kansas to Ralph John and Bessie Loma (Bennett) Ridgeway. She departed this life on Tuesday evening, February 21, 2023 at Fairview, Oklahoma.

Mary grew up at Clear Lake, Oklahoma and graduated with the class of 1946 of Beaver High School. She then moved to Norman, Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma where she received a Bachelors of Science degree in Business. Mary then studied and earned her law degree at the Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1957. Mary married Victor E. Bailey on September 15, 1962 at the First Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. They resided in Oklahoma City until moving to Fairview, Oklahoma in 1969. Mary worked for Speck, Flieg, Hewitt & Philbin Law Firm and later formed Bailey and Bailey Attorneys at Law. She and Vic practiced law for many years in Fairview.

Mary was a member of Ambucs, Iota Tau Tau, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma Association of Women Lawyers, the Oklahoma Thoroughbred Association and the Oklahoma Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protection Association. Mary loved horses, dogs and enjoyed reading and collecting owl figurines. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Vic. She is survived by several cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, at Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Fairview Community Center, 206 E. Broadway in Fairview, Oklahoma with Pastor Travis Howerton officiating. Mary’s body will be cremated following the services per her wishes. Memorial contributions may be made to Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation, the World Children's Fund or to the charity of donor's choice with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 15, Fairview, OK 73737. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
