September 18, 1958 ~ November 13, 2012

Charles Alan Bailey, lifelong resident of Bartlesville, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

Alan was born September 18, 1958, to Dr. Charles Bailey and Nell Marie Thomas. He was a proud member of ROTC at Sooner High School. After graduating in 1976, he worked on the Copan Dam, then attended Wesleyan College. Alan worked for the Phillips Petroleum Co. on its seismograph crew for three years, from 1989 to 1992.

He liked working with his hands and working for himself. Alan was co-owner of an auto detail shop, and he was a self-employed tile layer and handyman for 13 years, from 1992 to 2005, until retiring early due to health reasons. He appreciated beautiful craftsmanship and his artistic talents included playing the guitar and woodworking. He also loved watching Nascar races. Alan will be remembered for his loving heart and will be dearly missed.

Alan is survived by his six siblings, Sharon Shannon and David of Bartlesville; Dr. Troy Bailey and Janice and their two girls, of Joseph, OR; Charise Sandoval and Fred and their three children of Sahuarita, AZ; Dr. Lance Bailey of Tulsa and his two girls; BillieJo Ramirez and Blas, and their five girls of Clinton, OK; Tammy Bailey and one son of Tulsa; Dr. Brian Shane and one daughter of Bartlesville. He also is survived by stepmother Sharon Bailey of Tulsa; stepfather Billy Joe Nicholas of Salt Lake City, Utah; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Alan was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services for Alan will be held 2 pm Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Bartlesville. Pastor Manny LaPorte Sr. will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at Davis Family Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Washington County SPCA, 16620 State HWY 123, Bartlesville, Ok 74006.
