The services celebrating and honoring the life of Christina Mae Welch Avery, 86, of Enid are pending. Complete cremation care and services will be held September 23, 2023, are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Christina was born August 18, 1937, to Byron and Rosela Mae Weathers Welsch in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life September 12, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Enid graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1955. She married Albert Avery and moved extensively around the world following her husband’s military career. In 1969 the couple moved “home” to Enid, Oklahoma. She worked at Dillard's in the Estee Lauder counter. She enjoyed spending time with her Moose Lodge Family and absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter in law, Joyce Avery, three grandchildren, Chad Avery, Kyle Avery, and Sherry Reese and husband Marty; seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; her thirty-eight-year-old parrot Tiko, he was her “best little friend” and one sister-in-law, Carol Welch.
She was preceded in death by her two sons Merlin and Russell Avery, sister Marie Sisson; and brother Jack Welch.
Memorials may be given in her honor to Moose Lodge # 1740 with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
