Joyce Yvonne (Deeter) Avana
February 16, 1932 ~ February 3, 2023

Joyce Yvonne Deeter Avana, 90, passed away on February 03, 2023, in Marietta, OK, surrounded by her loving daughter and family members. Joyce was born on February 18, 1932, in Modesto, California to Muriel Estella (Chenoweth) and Clifford Kenton Deeter. She grew up in the Modesto and raised her children in Stanislaus County, CA. She later moved to Days Creek, Oregon and Marietta to be with her adult children.

Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. Because of her loving nature and concern for others, she was a comfort to many.

Joyce will be remembered for her love of baking cakes, sharp sense of humor, and love of Jimmy Swaggart music, especially the song, “There is a River.”

She was predeceased by her parents, her ex-husband, Lee Cockrum Avana; her brother, Kenton Delroy Deeter; her sister, Marie Deeter Jackson; brother-in-law, Billy Ray Duckworth; son-in-law, Anthony Davidson, and great-grandson, Christian Avana.

She leaves her three children, Richard Lee Avana (Carol) of Ceres, CA, Vincent Phillip Avana (Debbie) of Days Creek, and Terri Ann Davidson of Marietta; her sister, Shirlene Duckworth of Hughson, CA; her brother Gerald Deeter (Linda) of Coldspring, TX and sister-in-law Grace Deeter of Ripon, CA and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was blessed with four grandchildren, Deja MacIntyre, Phillip Avana, Jayson Stewart and Tawnye Davidson Huffakker; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Jackie.

No services scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta.
