Rev. Ronald D. Austin, of Sulphur, passed away March 13, 2016 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years.
Ronald was born November 4, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Henry David and Anne Lorraine (Brashears) Austin. He grew up in Oklahoma City. On May 9, 1975 he entered the United State Marine Corps from Oklahoma City and served until May 8, 1978; he earned the rank of Corporal. His tour of duty then led him into the U. S. Marine Corp Reserves where he served until April 16, 1981.
For many years he has been Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church in Sulphur, Oklahoma. He furthered his education by attending the Mid-American Technical School where he earned his certificate as an Electric Technician.
He was married to Susan Lynette Austin (Campbell) Austin in Gainesville, Texas. They were blessed with three children, Michael, David and Jessica.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry David Austin and Anne Lorraine Martin; and one sister.
Surviving family include his wife, Lynette Austin of the home; three children, Michael Austin of Boise, Idaho; David Austin and his wife, Brandy, of Hedgesville, West Virginia; and Jessica Henderson and her husband, Nathen, of Pauls Valley; seven grandchildren; one sister, Jane Reeves of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brothers, Jim Austin of Springfield, Missouri; and Rick Austin of Oklahoma City.
His church will be conducting memorial services on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Sulphur United Pentecostal Church; 1015 W. 11th St. in Sulphur, OK 73086. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Johnson.
