Forest entered the Army Reserves after graduating from high school. He served for six years. He was previously married and to this union, three children were born, Richard, Jody and Charlotte. He worked for Dolese Brothers before going to work at Ft. Sill as a Heating and Air technician. He retired in 1993. He married Patsy Lee Bostick on October 19, 1984 in Wichita Falls, TX. He farmed and ranched all his life. As the kids were growing up, he would take them hunting for dove and quail. Forest enjoyed watching sports, political shows and the news, but he especially would watch RFD Channel, keeping up with farm and cattle reports.
