Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 4, at the First Presbyterian Church, 319 LaSalle, Richardson, TX 75081, for Alfred Clark Asplund who died suddenly May 28, 2001, while vacationing with family in Hawaii.
Al was born in Enid on June 27, 1951, to George and Maxine Asplund. He attended Enid schools and graduated from EHS in 1969. After graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1973, Al lived in Richardson, Texas, where he was an agent for American National Insurance for 20 years and a probation officer with Dallas County for eight years. He was beloved by his family and friends and was known for his quick wit and loving personality. Al always made everyone's day a little brighter.
He is survived by his wife Carol; children Peter (and Melinda) Asplund, Matthew Asplund, in Diana (and Kyle) Johnson; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Caden; sister Anne Asplund; brothers Pete (and Carol) Asplund and George (and Sallie) Asplund; niece Shelly (and Dustin) Dupus and their daughter Mackenzie, and nephew Mark Asplund; his mother - in - law Laverne Wylie and numerous other in - law's and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
