Michael Bryan Ashenfelter, 73, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday evening, March 31, 2026. Born July 29, 1952, in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Forrest and Ruth (Clover) Ashenfelter. He was raised and received his education from Field Kindley Memorial High School in Coffeyville, KS in 1970. Growing up, he enjoyed working in the summers on the family farm north of Cambridge. Following high school, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Technology from Kansas State College of Pittsburg. He later married Candace Jo Reynolds. The couple had one son, Blake, and later divorced.
Mike spent most of his working career at Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, as a Fluid Measurement Specialist, where he was able to travel to several places which ignited his interest and continued traveling throughout his life. He visited many locations such as Paris, Africa, Italy, Hawaii, and many, many other places. Mike and Blake often vacationed in Branson, MO and Ocala, FL visiting family. In his spare time, he spent time with family, shooting guns, and setting off fire works on the 4th of July with his nephew, Joe. In 2019 Michael married Natalia Mirza and later divorced.
He is survived by his son Blake Ashenfelter of Bartlesville; his brother, Jerry Ashenfelter and wife Rita of Cambridge, KS; his nieces, Lora Bennet of Waynesville, MO; Lisa Braun of Cambridge, KS; as well as one great-niece and three great-nephews and three great-great nieces.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his nephew Joe Ashenfelter.
Please join us for a graveside service at the Cambridge (Kansas) Cemetery on Monday, May 18th, 2026 at 11:00am. A light lunch will follow at the Cambridge Presbyterian Church at 606 Maple St, Cambridge, KS 67023.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Michael’s name for
the Cambridge Presbyterian Church. Contributions can be made directly to the
