Richard Arrington, 86-year old Woodward resident passed Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Woodward. A memorial service will be held at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church at 5th St. & Oklahoma Ave. in Woodward at 11:00 a.m. on August 22, 2018.
Richard Crew Arrington, Jr., was born on September 1, 1931 in Cestas, Oklahoma, the son of Richard Crew and Pauline (Wilson) Arrington. He attended Woodward High School.
Richard served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy. He began his career for the Woodward Police Department. He then worked as an aircraft mechanic for Cessna and Boeing Following, returned to law enforcement and worked for the Arizona Highway Patrol. Then he was on the crew that built the first Boeing 747. After returning to Woodward, he owned and operated the Great Western Glass Shop. He retired from UPS as a delivery driver.
He enjoyed camping and being outdoors, but most of all he loved his children.
Richard is survived by two sons, Randal Crew Arrington and Richard Alan Arrington; daughter, Debra Diane Campbell, five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Ramona Thompson and Laverne Jackson; an many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Juanita Griffith.
