Anita June (Newsom) Arrington

October 02, 1944 ~ June 13, 2004

Anita passed away after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer on June 13, 2004, at the age of 59. She was born in Oakland, CA, to Ethan and June Newsom.

Anita was the wife of Ronnie Arrington of Heavener, OK.

Her father, grandson Joshua Brewer and cousin Bill Newsom preceded her in death.

Anita attended East Bakersfield High School and lived in Bakersfield until 1972. She became a registered nurse in 1980 and worked as a supervisiting nurse in ER. She worked her way up to an assistant administrator in Joshua Tree Hospital in Yucca Valley, CA. She moved to Heavener, OK in 1996 and worked at the General Hospital in Poteau, OK.

She is survived by her husband, mother, brother and sister in OK, her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Suzanne Brewer of Rio Rancho, NM, Robert and Marcia Brewer of Whitefish, MT, daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Scott Summers of Corto de Caza, CA, step-daughter, Sandy Arrington of Salt Lake City, UT, cousins Danny and Allen Newsom of Bakersfield, CA. Anita is also survived by her ex-husband Douglas Brewer of Bakersfield, CA, and best Friend, Pat (Crouch) Stewart, of Livermore, CA, 9 grandchildre, 3 nieces, 4 nephews.

Anita is buried in Wilburton, OK. She will be greatly missed but we know we will see her again someday in Heaven.
