The memorial service for Lester I. Arnold is 1:00PM Friday, November 17, 2023 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Gary Miller officiating.
Lester was born October 11, 1937 in Enid to the late Sylvester and Marella Arnold and passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on November 10, 2023. He attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1956. He enlisted in the Oklahoma Air National Guard on August 20, 1955, while in High School. He served for two years.
On February 20, 1959 he married Mary Jo Blockcolski and the couple made their home in Enid. Lester worked at Champlin Refinery from 1959 until it's closure in 1984. He owned and operated Mobile Home Parts and Service in 1984, later changing the name to Arnold's RV Parts and Service.
In his early years he enjoyed camping, boating, waterskiing, and traveling with his friends and family across the United States. In the later years the couple enjoyed their Keystone Lake getaway with more boating, three-wheeling, and hanging out with family and friends. Dad was an auto enthusiast, he enjoyed buying and tinkering with old cars and trucks. He enjoyed the opportunity to travel to several racing and car related events all over the US.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grand-daughter Nikki, and one brother Sam.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jo, of the home, his son Darren and wife Jan of Tulsa, and his daughter Peggy Arrington and husband Chris of Enid. Also surviving two sisters, Norma Johnson of Bethany, OK., Shirley Burkand husband Dale of Oklahoma City, and loving nieces and nephews.
