Trevus “Doyle” Armstrong, 79, died June 25, 2022 with his family at his side.
Born on Feburary 6, 1943 to Freeman F. Armstrong and Lorease (Carroll) Armstrong in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Doyle married the love of his life, Nancy Herrick, in 1966. Together they had one son, Troy D. Armstrong, and celebrated fifty years of marriage in August 2016.
A 1961 graduate of Ardmore High School, Doyle earned his B.A. in History and B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma. He then spent the majority of his professional career as an accountant at Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville.
Doyle was a recreational bowler, an avid golfer, and enjoyed watching OU football. In the early 1980s, he was passionate about long-distance bike riding and rode with his son to the top of Colorado’s Mount Evans, the highest paved road in the United States.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, and is survived by his wife, Nancy (Herrick) Armstrong; son, Troy D. Armstrong and wife Catherine; two grandchildren, Amber and Braden Armstrong; three brothers: Dale and wife Anna Armstrong, Gary and wife Maie Armstrong and Glenn and wife Belinda Armstrong; thirteen nieces and nephews; and twelve great-nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Green Country Village Retirement Community, Bartlesville Brookdale North Senior Living, and Cornerstone Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the charity of the donor’s choice in the name of T. Doyle Armstrong.
