There will be no service or viewing for Steven James Armstrong, 55, of Cherokee. He was cremated at his request. Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee.
He was born February 20, 1953, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Milburn and Lillian Moore Armstrong and died Monday, May 12, 2008, at his home in Cherokee.
He graduated from Redland's high school in Redlands, California, and received his degree in forestry from North American School of Conservation and Ecology in Anaheim, California.
He married Dee Seachris January 22, 2001, in Arizona. They moved to Oklahoma in 2002, then to Cherokee in 2005. He did home improvement and operated the sale barn café in Cherokee. He was a semi-professional bass angler, fishing numerous tournaments and charity events. He was involved with casting kids events to help young anglers and was a member of B. A. S. S. as well as Northern Oklahoma Fellowship of Christian Anglers.
Surviving are his wife, Dee, of the home; two daughters, Sally of Minneapolis and Valerie of Hutchinson, Kansas, and one brother, Bud Armstrong of Lufkin, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Cancer Society or to help with medical expenses.
