Michael Wayne Allen Armstrong

Michael Wayne Allen Armstrong
April 11, 1995 ~ October 22, 2015

Funeral services for Michael Wayne Allen Armstrong will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. in the Victory Life Church of Durant, OK, with Pastor Duane Sheriff officiating. Michael passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, October 22, 2015, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 20, surrounded by family, and an incredible hospital staff and physicians.

Michael was certainly, as the expression depicts, truly one of a kind. As he grew in life, always wanting to learn and try new things, he only had two speeds, fast or faster. Michael made friends with everyone, no time for short encounters, all were friends for life.

In his 20 short years, he endured 36 different surgeries, never complaining, and making friends with all the doctors and nurses that surrounded him. He fought a good fight and kept the faith. Michael was a member of Victory Life Church in Durant, but was also present and loved by all the locations. He was a graduate of Victory Life Academy, class of 2013.

One of his greatest opportunities was working as a bus boy at Salita’s in Durant where he enjoyed seeing all the people. Michael loved sports, following the Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He also served as Assistant Coach to the VLA Eagles football team. He enjoyed tracking sports, absorbing the stats and would share with anyone willing to listen. Often sharing so much that he even got his preach on and took the opportunity to witness to others. Michael had the opportunity for three years to attend the Camp Cavett for kids where he was a huge presence. He was an avid outdoorsman where he loved to fish and liked to hunt. He enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and motorcycles. In his spare time, he loved playing video games and going to the movies with Mom.

He was preceded in death by his sister Farrah Armstrong, and his Uncle Andy Headrick.

Michael is survived by his parents, Lee and Ginger; his sister and brother-in-law, Cassie and Mike; and his two nieces, Tayte and Syd.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers and plants that donations be made in Michael’s memory to the Cavett Kids Foundation, Non-Profit Organization, and Address: 3801 Classen Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.

Friends are invited to stop by Holmes-Coffey-Murray and sign the guest book on Sunday until 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.hcmfh.com.
