Christine Mae Gossett was born in Chickasha Oklahoma on Christmas Day of 1912 to Tip and Orrie Gossett. She was the last surviving child, of three, born to the couple. Her brothers, William Thomas Gossett, lived in Birmingham, MI and Wayne I. Gossett lived in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
The Gossetts owned and operated hotels in Oklahoma and later in Salt Lake City.
Christine was a beautiful woman who wanted to become an actress. She moved with her parents to Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. She later moved to Hollywood, California where later she was under contract to 20th Century Fox Studios. There she met her furutre husband, Leon Ames. They married in 1938 and were married 55 years upon Leon's death in 1993.
Christine and Leon owned and ran the Gossett~Ames Ford dealership in Studio City, California, where they lived for 30 years.
Christine and Leon were the parents of Shelley, born in 1940 and to Leon, Jr., born in 1943. Christine became a devoted housewife and mother while Leon enjoyed a long acting career.
In 1978 The Ames moved to Corona del Mar where Leon died in 1993. Christine lived in their home until her death on 27 October 2005.
