Roberta "Pink" (Chevalley) Ambarian

Roberta "Pink" (Chevalley) Ambarian
???? ~ Dec 12, 2013

Roberta "Pink" Ambarian passed away December 12, 2013, at her home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Although her given first name was Roberta, she was universally and affectionately known as Pink. Pink was born at Memorial Hospital in Bartlesville, and was raised in Dewey, Oklahoma. She graduated from Dewey High School in 1963, and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in English from Oklahoma State University. Pink moved to Alaska in the late 1960s, and attended the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, where she earned a Master's degree. She had a variety of occupations in Alaska, including working on the Alaska Pipeline in Valdez, teaching English at the Kenai Peninsula Community College, and owning a successful kitchen store in Kenai. Pink moved back to the Bartlesville area in 1981 and was the Secretary/Treasurer for her family business, Chevalley Moving & Storage of Dewey, Inc., until her retirement in 2008.

Pink was very active as a volunteer in Bartlesville community and social organizations: She was a member of the Service League of Bartlesville; a charter and board member of the Green Country Pilot Club; a member of P.A.R.B. (the Post Adjudical Review Board); a board member of the local chapter of the American Red Cross; and a board member of the Bluestem Council Girl Scouts. Pink traveled extensively to dog shows around the country to show her beloved Bouvier dogs. She also loved baking, fine cuisine, world travel and cruising, skiing, and political activities.

Pink is survived by her husband Edward Ambarian, her niece Robi Davito, and Robi's daughter Laura Davito, all of Bartlesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert H. and Dorothy A. Chevalley, her sister Donna Sue Leatherland, and her nephew Geoff L. Leatherland. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, David Wtipil.

A gathering in celebration of Pink's life will be held at the Hillcrest Country Club on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Appetizers will be served. Please come by at any time during the gathering to pay your respects and share memories about Pink with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pink's name to either the Service League of Bartlesville or the Green Country Pilot Club.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at
