Jackie Lee Alsip was born to Ross George Alsip and Oma Lee Deathrage on April 12, 1935, near Jennings, Oklahoma. He passed from this life at the age of 87 years and 9 months on January 22, 2023, at his home near Yale, Oklahoma.

Jack graduated from Oilton High School in 1953. He married his wife, Phyllis Ann Lairmore, 67 years ago on July 5, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They made their home in Oilton, Oklahoma where they raised a family of two children, Rebecca Ann and Jackie David. Being an avid outdoorsman, Jack and Phyllis moved to a country home near Yale, Oklahoma, in 1991 where they remained.

Jack spent many years working in Tulsa. In fact, he worked on some of the early spacecraft and the Boeing 747 Jet. His later years were spent working in the oilfields. While in Oilton he served on the Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Oilton Free Will Baptist Church. In his leisure time, Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising cattle.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Clayton George Alsip and sister Deanna Barnes.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis; daughter Becky and son-in-law Billy Moore of Georgetown, Texas; son David of Oilton, Oklahoma; grandsons Stuart and Andrew Miller of Georgetown, Texas; and brother Denton Eugene and sister-in-law Coweta Alsip of Oilton, Oklahoma.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma. A cremation will follow. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
