December 14, 1938 ~ November 23, 2018

KIOWA, Kansas – Lois J. Allenbach, 79, of Kiowa, Kansas, passed away on Friday, , surrounded by her family. Lois was born , to Richard Guthrie and Florence Schock Guthrie in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Lois was united in marriage to Ronald Lee Allenbach on July 10, 1960, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Burlington, Oklahoma.

Lois committed herself to the Lord as a young adult and served him faithfully as a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She was greatly loved by her family and friends. She made each grandchild feel special by spending individual time with them, attending their events, cooking their favorites, and teaching them to drive. She was an inspiration for how to live by serving others. She was committed to making Kiowa a better place to live and volunteered at the General Store, currently serving as president. She also recently served nine years on the board of the Kiowa Hometown Market. Lois and Ron started a family tradition forty years ago by vacationing at Table Rock Lake, and this is something that the entire family has come to enjoy. They have wintered in Tucson, Arizona with her sisters for several years, enjoying hikes, shopping, and fellowship.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald of 58 years; her children Randy (Joanie) Allenbach, Amy (Ted) Schoneboom, Elaine (Mark) Johnson and Richard (Candace) Allenbach; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters, Geneva (Gerald) Sullivan, Mary (Ernie) Weigele, Ann (Marty) Thenhaus, Susan (Tim) Moriarty and sister-in-law Jeanene Mantz.

A public visitation will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home, 204 N. Seventh, Kiowa. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 823 Holmes St., Kiowa. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Kiowa. Online condolences may be made at

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the following: Apostolic Christian Church, The General Store or Apostolic Christian HarvestCall (for Child Sponsorship) through the funeral home.
